2025 Impact

The Lighthouse Student Education and Mentorship Facility in Malindi, Kenya, was started early in 2025, thanks in part to funds given by CWI. This facility, organized and operated by Every Life, Inc. out of Colorado, seeks to create a safe, supportive space for at-risk youth. Lighthouse currently provides shelter to 23 students who have faced incredibly difficult circumstances due to poverty and the loss of caregivers. This initiative also provides support to their education as well as mentorship from trusted adults who help these young folks believe in their full potential. One of the main goals is to provide transition services for these young people to enter adulthood with greater opportunity to succeed.

Lighthouse is already above its capacity. There are currently students who are sleeping in pop-up tents on the open veranda. While they have access to running water and showers, as well as the kitchen area, it is clear that more space is desperately needed. Children’s World Impact is continued to partner with Every Life, Inc. to expand the facilities to include the following:

• More bedrooms for appropriate sleeping conditions.
• An administrative office on the premises.
• An outdoor covered patio space.

These facilities will enhance the operational efficiency of Lighthouse and create additional space for gatherings, eating, studying, and mentorship sessions.
