2020 CWI Golfing Outing a Success!
On August 17, after several conversations and much prayer, CWI held a “socially distant and coronavirus-conscious” golf outing at Geneva National in Lake Geneva. Things were very different, with no group activities or banquet meals. Golfers had individual tee times to space themselves around the course and play their game in the beautiful outdoors. The day was absolutely perfect in terms of weather, and also in terms of spreading the word about the current mission focus for CWI.
This year, because we can’t travel to Ensenada or Haiti for mission work, we are focused on building a home and mission center for the long-standing director of the GVCM mission in Mirebalais, Haiti. Pastor Yves has been serving there for over 20 years and has never had a place to call a home of his own. He has often planned to build one, to bring his family together into one constant place, but some other need was always more pressing – building an orphanage, schools, churches, medical facilities – all took precedent over a home.
We are pleased to announce, that due to the generosity of our golf outing sponsors, over $17,000 has been raised to date for the financing of the construction of a home and missionary center in Mirebalais for Pastor Yves. More is needed, but this is a great start. We look forward to working with Pastor Yves as construction starts and his home comes together, with room for a visiting missionary facility as well. More details will be posted as the project continues.
